I first began teaching guitar privately in my hometown of Ullapool for 1 year after leaving school in 1995. I then moved to Aberdeen to begin a 3-year music teaching course at Aberdeen College. During this time I also taught privately as well as having 1 months work experience teaching a class of standard grade level pupils at Linksfield Academy. I have been playing the guitar since the age of 11 and studied music in school up to sixth year studies level. During this time I had experiences such as piano and theory lessons, musical gatherings such as the Feis Ross and performing with the school at places such as Inverness Eden Court Theatre.
I began teaching at the Chalmers Mackay Music School in November 2000. During my spare time I compose songs and also play bass guitar in a local performing band. I enjoy teaching and feel I have enough musical experience and knowledge to pass onto others.
My other interests out of work are football, composing songs, and I listen to and work with all styles of music.
