Anna Hay

My name is Anna Louise Hay. I am 28years old. My partner Alan and I have two beautiful children Jessica and Ryan. We all live in Pitmedden in a lovely quiet street.

My first instrument was a tiny Keyboard given to me when I was six years old. When I was six and a half my Granny gave me an old Piano that had been given to her by an old lady moving in to residential care. I loved this Piano. I was always happy as a child spending time playing my Piano (perhaps not always practising!). I soon started Piano lessons and continued these until I was a teacher myself. During my childhood I entered the Aberdeen Music Festival playing the Piano and the recorder several times. I have also passed all eight grades on the piano, advanced leisure play keyboard and have sat grades 3,4,5,6 and 8 theory exams.

I went on to Aberdeen College to Study Piano teaching. I left college with an ALCM and LLCM (Teaching Diplomas) and a Dip ABRSM. While at college I met an excellent teacher who I asked to give me singing lessons. I sat an ICMA singing diploma while at college and have continued my voice lesson ever since. I then went on to sit a Grade eight Singing Exam and then a performance exam called a DipLCM. I am continuing to develop and work hard on my singing with the help of my singing teacher and intend to sit more exams in the near future.

I have been teaching Piano and Keyboard for nearly ten years now and have been teaching singing for five. I started teaching at Chalmers Mackay Music School over three years ago and enjoy my job enormously.
