I have been teaching at Chalmers Mackay for 8 years now, having started as a trainee piano and keyboard tutor back in 1999. I am currently in my 3rd year at Aberdeen university studying for a Bmus degree in musical education. I am passionate about teaching and love working with young people. I teach classical, and light pop styles on both instruments, and also try to incorporate music the pupil wants to bring in, a favourite song or tune they want to try. I believe in making lessons enjoyable and interesting for my pupils, many of whom have gone through for Associated Board exams - to date 9 pupils have achieved distinctions, 5 merits, and 12 passes - ( I do not enter pupils who arent ready for exams) so no fails!
My hobbies include horse riding (i attend and enter Show Jumping at local Shows with my pony Ritz) skiing ( I was lucky to get to Ski at Whistler Village over in Canada 2007) reading, badminton. Playing piano/keyboard can benefit other learning, and also is a great relaxer, so why not consider taking up lessons - we are here to help you!
