Since returning to Scotland, where he previously studied recorder with Jenny Hill (Scottish Early Music Consort), trumpet with Brian Forshaw (RSNO) and piano with Jean Hutchison, he has performed in several contexts, such as a celidh band, in a duo with a guitarist and the recorder quartet, ' Flauti Animati Scotica.'
He now lives in Aberdeen where he has directed Cantores ad Portam, the rennaissance recorder group at Aberdeen University, and adjudicated at the Aberdeen Music Festival. He has an interest in a wide range of musics, including Rennaissance, Baroque, Jazz and Folk along with avant-garde and other eclectic influences. He teaches in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Paisley as well as Inverurie.
