I graduated with a 2:1 (Hons) in Music Performance as a senior choral scholar. During my studies I was a fellow of the Robert Nicol Trust, the Sidney Perry Trust, the Stanley Picker Trust, The Cross Trust, the JTH Charitable Trust, the Miss Margaret Gray's Trust, the McGlashan Charitable Trust and Soroptomists International. During my studies I was invited to take part in masterclasses by internationally recognised artists: Kate Hughes, Jeremy Huw Williams and Irene Drummond. I have also taken part in recordings at Kings College and broadcasts for BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Radio Scotland.
In addition to my studies I gained ABRSM Grade 8 Singing with Distinction and ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory with merit. For the last four years I have sung and played alto saxophone with bands Ada-ska, Groove Cruise and Beat Street singing ska, reggae, soul and funk. I am also in an improvised music group called Sumisumi. I have played all over Scotland in fantastic live venues such as Cafe Drummonds, The Tunnels, The Doghouse and the Wickerman music festival.
I started my own company JCN Arts & Events in October 2009, where we specialize in vocal tuition, events management and community music. Clients include Feugh Fest music festival and Aberdeen International Youth festival.
